Andrew S. Townley, Founder and Managing Director of Archistry Limited, announced today that he will be presenting at Burton Group's Catalyst Europe Security Conference to be held October 20-23rd in Prague. Mr. Townley will be addressing the critical area of using the right metrics to assess the execution of your SOA implementation strategy. This presentation is a summary of Archistry's recent research in to isolating the key factors for success of SOA implementations, and is intended to spark discussion and debate on the subject amongst the diverse audience the Catalyst conference attracts.
"Unfortunately, there seems to still be a very IT-centric view of SOA among organisations out there," Mr. Townley said. "This bias tends to appear in the metrics people use to judge how their programmes are doing, and a large number of organisations tend to come up with metrics that don't really matter to the business, such as the number of deployed services, number of services used by multiple processes and service response times. The focus of what we're trying to do here is to sort through all of the metrics out there being applied to SOA and establish a set of business-focused metrics common across successful SOA programmes. Presenting these at an event like Catalyst, is really a 'trial by fire' to validate what we've discovered with a wider audience. We're hoping for some lively discussions."
Catalyst Conference is not your typical talking heads event; the week begins with two days of comprehensive workshops leading into three days of lively and in-depth general sessions. Evenings include Hospitality Suites where attendees can enjoy networking with peers while learning more about emerging technologies. If you attend only one event this year, Burton Group Catalyst Conference is the best event to provide the education and insight to help you create change within your enterprise.
